Anas Rahman

Senior Policy Advisor

Rahman is a senior policy advisor for IISD’s Energy program and is based in India. His research concerns energy access, with a focus on solar irrigation. His recent work has focused on policy support for sustainably scaling up solar irrigation in India, with special attention given to irrigation access for marginalized farmers through innovative delivery models.

Rahman completed a bachelor’s degree in technology in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a master’s degree in development practice from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. In addition, he was a fellow in the Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellowship program. During the fellowship, Rahman worked with district administrations in sectors such as health, education, agriculture, and urban development. His work focused on improving public service delivery in these sectors, addressing gaps in government schemes, and other public governance issues.
